Chairing the Community Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee

During my time on Council, I:

  • pushed for improvements to make walking and bike riding safer, easier and more comfortable, with a particular focus on helping people with disabilities, seniors and parents with prams.
  • chaired the Community Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee.
  • succeeded in getting the City to take action on the issue of cars blocking footpaths.
  • initiated a requirement for new footpaths to be built across driveways (“Footpath continuity”).
  • Advocated for more funding to implement the City’s Bike Plan.

If you or any member of our community experience difficulties within the City of Bayswater, in the following areas:
• Buildings, facilities or footpaths
• Getting around our community
• Signage – inadequate or non-existent signs
• Information – difficulty accessing and reading information such as pamphlets
and minutes etc.
• Special needs not being met by staff and local business.
• Community members not being included in consultation processes

Please contact the City via email mail@bayswater.wa.gov.au, or complete the pamphlet (“Creating Accessible Communities”) which can be picked up at the library. Alternatively, you can directly contact me via the Contact page.
